CSLSA CHAPTERS / AGENCIES

There are currently 30 chapters of the United States Lifesaving Association which fall within the Southwest Region of USLA, known as CSLSA. Each chapter is affiliated with an open water rescue agency, which employs open water rescuers, such as lifeguards. While the agencies themselves are not USLA/CSLSA members, the open water rescuers in these agencies have formed USLA/CSLSA chapters. New chapters are formed after an intensive review process by the CSLSA Board of Directors. An applicant must meet minimum requirements, complete an application, host a visitation, and be approved by the Board. CLICK HERE to download a Chapter Application Form (Microsoft Word format).

Lifeguard agencies are professional organizations like fire and police agencies. In fact, some lifeguard agencies are part of a fire rescue agency. Others may be their own departments or part of another department.
